FOUND FIX FOR VOLANT CAI FENDER GAP ISSUE

If you remove the OEM piece that goes through the wall you can set the Volant Intake over it. It takes A LOT of "Persuasion" to get it to fit, but it does. I have the pics and will post them, in some form, later in the week. This trick does not work with the AEM system

Don't worry about the numbers. Volant hired a drunk, blind , and HIGHLY optimistic hair dresser with the runs to Dyno the kit. 21 HP boost. Only if you feed it liquid Nitrogen, C4, and magic pixie dust. 10 hp at the rear is VERY generous for ANY kit. If you get 5 horse you got your moneys worth. For My Volant it SOUNDS like I added about 200 HP. Sounds like a GM big block with a quadrajet. oh yea! Now for the exhaust.

I haven't completed the review yet, but check out the leveling kit on LowRangeOffRoad.com. The kit is awesome (machined aluminum parts, good instructions, etc.) and the price is as good as any I've seen. The Toytec kits are nice too.

I just had the TRD CAI installed because of the gap of the volant, wished I would have known about this before I installed the TRD. Hope I can get numbers close to what the volant is stating.

I am looking at installing a leveling kit and grille guard, have any suggestions.

I removed to extra part yesterday and the intake is noticeably louder now. As for Milage it APPEARS to have jumped up 2 mpg after removing the offending part. Also after looking into it it really does not matter how good the seal is to the fender wall, the fender is open to the engine compartmentso you are sucking in the "hot" air anyway. FYI that part of the engine compartment only gets hot when on FIRE. At that point you have bigger problems than hot air.

That Mod may have killed my gas mileage. Stay tuned for the continuing saga of Jerby's truck adventures.
