4.6 vs 5.7 for towing
5 Replies

Is anyone towing 6500 lbs with the 4.6? Just about to buy our Tundra and not sure if the 4.6 will do the job. Also will be my daily driver so gas mileage is a bit of a concern. Let me know.kmanContinue

Well I went with everyone's advise and bought the 5.7. No sense in taking a chance at being under powered!! Double cab pyrite Mica. should be in the driveway in a week. It is still on the lot in Vancouver and just needs to be sent out the valley.Excited about going for a tour.kman.See More

I have the 4.7 in a Tundra DC, and I have towed a construction trailer with a bobcat and accessories, (at least 10,000 lbs.) and my truck pulled it with no major drama. I bought my truck for work and for family duty, it fills this role perfectly. If…

It turns out that the mileage is not all that much different. I would suggest the 5.7 for towing.
