I also have this problem.....Passenger side. Looked around and couldn't see anything because of the heat shields. It seemed like there was hot exhaust coming from behind the shield.....but only on the passenger side....which leads me to belive…

I don't have any info on leaf springs, but i'm sure someone out there does. The manifold leak was pricey true but my mechanic said it would have gotten worse over tine and could potentially lead to other problems. Believe me $1800.00 would…

I believe that this is exactly what i have going.  That sounds like quite an expensive fix for a manifold.  I've had a mechanic ride with me and tell me that it was most likely some sort of manifold leak. It really undermines the V8…

I hear your noise. I have an 01 SR5 and had a ticking noise too. It got worse from about 80K to around 100K miles. I took it to Toyota who diagnosed it as a leaking head gasket, on the left side. price for the gasket around $50.00 and price for the…

Check your Spark Plugs. I had a T-100 do the same thing sounded like valve train and it was a loose plug. Ended up blowing the plug out, tearing the threads out of the head and destroying the coil. Cost me $1700 to get the head repaired by…

I just joined and read about your ticking noise. I have a 2001 Tundra with the same thing. I had the driver side manifold done and quieted a lot but now I can hear it from the passenger side. I can also hear some air leakage on acceleration…

Definitely could be a leak from the exhaust manifold. If you want you can take a small mirror and look around each of the ports on the exhaust manifold to check for any cracks around the bends in the metal and around the entire manifold on both…

could be exhaust manifolds leaking; pretty common for the 4.7 v8. You should be able to hear it if you just rev the motor quickly in neutral or when you 1st take off in gear. If you are hearing the noise after 1st starting up after cold soak only…

Ticking noise.

On my 4.7 V8 Tundra when I give it gas there is a ticking noise comming out from the engine. It only happenes when reving the engin. When I keep my foot on the gas for a few seconds it stops.I was told it could be a lifter or a fuel injector manifold. I am not a mechanic what so ever so all this isjibberich. Can anybody help me here? Has anybody had the same problem? What kind of money am I looking to possibly spend to get it fixed? Thanks a lot for your input.See More
