Did you go true duals, or catback with one muffler? From what I've heard the 50's are softer until you get into the gas, and any catback I've had has always been quieter than a true dual setup. I know they do make a single dual in, dual out flowmaster, but I forgot if it's 40 or 50. If you've got the cash to burn, the TRD kit is really quiet in comparison, but it still gives a little growl.

Just installed Flowmaster 40's dual in/ dual out on my 4.6 DC. The sound is wicked, but tooo loud. I also have a terrible droning happening around 1800 rpms (starts around 62mph). The drone is about 80db's and kinda makes my eardrums hurt. Any suggestions to stop the drone and if i have to change mufflers, what kind to you suggest? I'm still hoping for a mellow rumble thats loud but not too loud, and minimal to no droning. Please help before I go deaf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was thinking maybe a flomaster 50 suv??

Rob, i never like Pioneer. They were great when i was in high school when loud was all we wanted but then i found a more refined and defined sound from Alpine. I love the clarity for Alpine but i have heard that Pioneer has made some vast improvements over the last several years. Blaupunkt is pretty awesome too. The upper end stuff from clarion and Kenwood should be considered too.

Who's done deck upgrades? I've been thinking about Alpine, but also like some Pioneers I've seen. Don't really need nav, dvd, or sat radio....just iPhone controls. Any likes or dislikes from experience? Any problems getting the steering wheel controls to work?

thanks captain kaos, but I read that some owners are running on 35x12.50 R20. I dont know if they do any off road with them? I would like to know before i get stuck with small looking tires on my truck. !
