Im pretty new to the forum type thing so bear with me. I bought a 2007 Tundra used earlier this year and it has been hands down my favorite truck I have ever owned. I come from a long line of shade tree mechanics so I cant leave anything alone... ever. CAI is something Santa will be leaving under the tree (im hoping he leaves a K&N), so now I'm thinking about a leveling kit (3/1) and from what Ive read I like Toy-tec but my question is, is I bought the truck with 285/65/R18 BFG A/T's on it. A 3/1 kit and I'll only be able to go a size bigger? I'm from Arkansas so I talk tire size in 32's or 33's etc... and the three number system makes my head hurt. The truck doesnt have much cant to it now but its def not level. Second question: Is there a way to lock the rear diff and not have the throttle limiter kick on when you start spinning? I want all the tires I can get pulling!!
Um you can do 33's with the 3/1 kit we have it at this link if you are interested in this kit let me know email me at info@tundrastop.com http://www.tundratalk.net/forums/tundrastop-com/76646-huge-deal-fir...
Volant is better then K&N for the CAI also and there is a guy on here with a link with the best deal ever on it!
Check out my site www.tundrastop.com let me know if there is anything that strikes your eye and welcome to tundranetwork, its a great site with awesome members!
On the tires spinning question are you wanting to be able to spin the tires without the limited slip kicking in and stopping the wheels from spinning? If so hold the traction control button down for 5 seconds two lights will pop up on the dash then give it a try and see what you can do!

Sorry for the delay in response, Ive been trying to reply from my phone for a couple days (pesky Iphone) and just now sat down at my desk and have a second to reply. On the tires question, It was my impression that the size i'm running now are pretty much 32's. Thats why im sort of balking at getting the leveling kit it all its gonna get me in is 33's (again, the metric tire sizes baffle me).
On the spinning tires question... what I am wanting bottom line is this: The rear diff to lock and spin together, BUT the throttle control (or whatever censor senses the slipping tires) to NOT kill the throttle when my tires start spinning. Holding the button for 5 seconds just overrides the locking rear diff right?
Thats an iffy question some tundras can never get both wheels to spin while others can, Dont ask why I mean we all have the same or close parts, so really dont have that answer check out my youtube http://www.youtube.com/user/tundrablack check out my burn out video you can clearly see both wheels spin! Some tundras cant get that to happen not sure y did you hold that button down and try?
As far as tires the 33's will look bigger also and that kit we offer that you want will make the truck look better also as far as stance!

Oh if I am sitting at a light and just punch it the back end gets sideways pretty easily/quickly before the throttle shuts off (I call whatever sensor that is "the nanny switch). Ive only held the button and punched it once and it spun so fast/hard/easily I assumed it was only one tire. I didnt even spin for more than 2 seconds and I let off. I'll try it again after work today and look for the marks after the smoke clears. Good videos BTW!!
Thanks lol if you want the truck to catch and still leave some power simply press the button once and that will allow you to still have power but still grip a little better at the same time

After reading our convo again it raised the question, why is Volant better than K&N? Not that I doubt yall or anything, but its housed in a box etc... K&N is a lot more open and seems like you would be getting volumes more air flow than the Volant would.
The Volant and AEM are both dry/enclosed type filers. Closer to a true CAI. The K&N is an open design and oiled. This is a design that pulls more warm air from the engine compartment and also the oiled filters are less efficent at filtration. To recap. The Volant and AEM closed box systems filter better while being less restrictive and pull cooler air into the engine.
What are your thoughts on the aFe intake, I have this one and can't beleive the differance in sound, when you get into the throttle you can finnally hear that you have 380 horse.
ya, this is an inclosed system with a dry filter. The air box does have a hole in the front which seems would defeat the purpose of a cold air intake. The theory is that it can not get enough air from the wheel well so gets more air from the front, while the truck is moving the air in front should be cooler then the rest of the engine bay.
If you hold your traction control button down for 3-5 seconds you will see two lights come on and you'll have turned off all of the stability control functions and be able to get a nice 2 tire fire.

tried it again on my way to work this morning... WOW... I swear if it put a controller on it and made the shift points hard, it would burn 2nd gear too!!!
