I just bought a 2006 tundra sr5 doublecab yesterday...so im trying to understand some things...i did research before I bought but a few questions???? No auto trans dipstick...whats up with that?? and How can I find out if I have a Limited slip diff.... any other things i should watch out for, avoid, know about....etc.....please reply...thanks
hi welcome, yes no tranny dip stick. unless you see a leak, don't worry about it. check your manual for when it should be changed.
2-on the rear end, there should be a small white sticker that has 3 letter's LSD. if not it could have fallen off. easyest way is to find you vin #, & call your dealership & ask them if your tundra has it.
3- make sure they did the ball joint recall.
thats it. your tundra in my opinion is 1 of the best years ever built.
i'm not a off road guy, but any mod, you are thinking about, i might be able to help guide you.
if you do not off road, 1 of the best investments is at the least the hellwig rear anti sway bar.
i also have there front bar as well. i have taken turn at .82+g's, with no ill effects.
but i also have v-rated tires. which to me, will be the only tires i will ever put on my truck.hankook ventus ST 295/45/20's.
i had the bfgoodrich g-force radial t/a's, i couldn't wait to get rid of them. if you gave me a pair for free, i'd never put them on. but thats my opinion. the wear out fast 17,000 miles. my hankooks have 23,000 & i still have at least 10g's left. &, i have been playing alot around turns.

I just recently purchased a 2005 tundra sr5 crewcab. I questioned the dip stick to the tranny. I purchased a Haynes manual from Advance Auto parts and it showed me that the tranny fluid is checked like the rearend differencial. It has plug on the side of the tranny to fill fluid and to add to it from that location.
Recomend buying a Haynes Manual.
