new guy here and new truck. would like to know what i can do to increase my mileage on the Crew Max. right now i'm getting 17 on the highway. plan on getting a K&N filter, but not available yet. any other ideas that won't won't void the warranty?
thanks in advance.
I'm getting the same mpg ,(when i can keep my foot out of it)..and i have the snug tonneau, i haven't noticed any difference in mpg ...im still between 15 and 17....ive been thinking about the CAI and a cat back ....but they are not cheep....and i like the quite truck more then the 1.5 or 2 mpg i may get....
You're the first I've heard no improvement with a cover. Wow! if you like quiet don't bother changing anything. Plus I think most of us who have added CAI and catback make sure at some point on each tank, we drop the MPG to 7 or so just to hear that bad boy rumble!
LOL you guys are bad. I actually have seen the gains with the CAI/Catback and once I proved my investment was worth it, I started hitting it just to run people into the slow lane. It's brutal when you get beside an 18-wheeler and let it rip!!!!!
hello all new member and new to a truck in general haha but i just got a 07 crew max 4x4; sorry if off topic a bit, but i notice that my electronic estimated mpg is 14.7mpg, I was under impression tank is 26.6? is that incorrect? saw on cars.com. doing math I should get approx 390miles on my tank. I only get 310-320miles. And at fill up I can only fill 21 or so gallons. I too am wondering if anything can help or is that correct? shouldnt I be able to fill to 26ish gallons? sorry if not a good question for this topic..
Welcome, Rick. Your MPG does seem a bit low so start monitoring your acceleration and speed a bit to see how you can improve it. I'm thinking you should be able to get around 17 MPG. I have a DC 4x4 Long Bed and usually fill up every 315 miles. The E light comes on very early for these trucks but I don't take the chance. More than likely the most you will ever fill is 24 gallons and that's with the E light on past 0 miles left. Enjoy your truck!!!
back again with an update. put a hard fold-up cover on my bed and a K&N filter element on my crew max. filled up and took a trip north to cedar hills state park. during the trip, checked the milage and saw 19.1 mpg. so guess i am at my max hiway milage. am happy with it. 5700 miles on this truck. still breaking it in. thanks for all the help
Great!! You've reminded me I need to post my accomplishment of 19MPG the other morning on the way to work. It sure helps when you keep your foot off the floor. ;-)
